12 - 35 kW (50 HZ) / 14 – 40 kW (60 HZ) DIESEL GENERATORS

The range of gensets with latest-generation KDI engines starts at 12 kW at 50 Hz (14 kW at 60 Hz) and goes up to 35 kW at 50 Hz (40 kW at 60 Hz).
Quieter, more powerful and more compact, the gensets in this power range are equipped with the DEC 3500 controller, which allows the generators to be put in parallel without external systems, therefore managing the distribution of loads in complete autonomy.

Innovation is the common denominator in the design of KDI engines, characterized by the use of extremely cutting-edge technology that enables clean combustion while limiting emissions, complying with international regulations without the use of any aftertreatment device (DPF) and at the same time ensuring the achievement of extraordinary performance. The KDI engines used by Kohler for marine gensets won the Diesel of the Year award in 2012 and 2015.
KDI engines are designed to meet the latest regulations and are EPA Tier IV final/Stage III/B compliant (EPA Tier III - 60Hz for the marine industry).

The 4-valve-per-cylinder timing system is designed to house the injector perfectly vertical and centered in relation to the combustion chamber. This solution optimizes the filling, atomization of the fuel and its mixing with the oxygen in the combustion chamber. Intake manifold and combustion chamber have been developed through careful fluid-dynamic analysis (CFD Analysis) to achieve efficient combustion.

The common-rail injection system on some models, together with the electronic control unit required to manage it, are both state-of-the-art and specially developed to equip all types of application. The ECU allows total control of engine calibration parameters to achieve performance and emission levels.

The exhaust gas recirculation system is the result of careful fluid-dynamic analysis and extensive development testing. The positioning of the EGR valve on the ‘hot side’ prevents any possible blockage, a typical drawback of these systems. The exhaust gases cooling through the cylinder head optimizes the heat exchange without affecting the overall dimensions.

KDI engines are designed to meet the latest regulations and are compliant with EPA Tier IV final/Stage III/B (EPA Tier III - 60Hz for the marine industry).
