The KOHLER technical training sessions, in SAIM’s headquarters, addressed to the distributors network has just ended.
The courses were run by KOHLER’s Service Manager Marco Pezzuolo with the support of SAIM’S Service staff together with the KOHLER Service Manager Francesco Pitardi.
The sessions involved many technicians – Dealer and Specialist – from all over Italy.
The training was focused on Kohler DEC3500 controller that offers the possibility of parallel operation with multiple generator sets (also single phase) thanks to PGEN® system patented by KOHLER.
DYNAMICA gen sets have also been illustrated and studied.
Saim introduces Aqua Matic Dual Pass. The new system by Sea Recovery features a fully automatic Dual Pass Water Desalination System as a single, compact and quiet machine. It combines the benefits of a standard water maker plus added features such as the ability to produce ultra-pure water from sea water or from any dockside freshwater source available. Three models are currently available for yachts above 24 metres.
This year SAIM supports FAI – Italian Environment Fund through the subscription of Corporate Golden Donor membership program.
With FAI we would like to achieve a great safeguard project, which is also an ambitious cultural challenge: to make Italy a nicer place to live, work and grow our children.
FAI promotes our wonderful landscape and cultural heritage; they are an important asset and an essential resource to invest in, to renovate, develop and enhance our country.
Thanks to support of its members, both private citizens and companies, FAI has safeguarded and managed 57 estates throughout the country for over 40 years.
It saved historical, artistic and beautiful sites from negligence, to reorganize and open them to the public.
Every day FAI works hard to defend and make accessible cultural and natural places, throughout the Italian city, coast and countryside.
It makes an effort to train people toward the knowledge, respect and care of art and nature.
FAI encourages the Community to sustain Civil Society by dynamic participation in territory.
We want a more protected and beautiful Italy.
We work with FAI to build it.
Ascomac Unimot is working hard for the zero-impact boatyard, through environmental awareness. The engine room is an important part of the process.
On 26th September 2017 took place in Genoa a technical workshop focused on power efficiency of the boat; Ascomac President Ruggero Riva e Ascomac Unimot President Massimo Donà led the meeting.
The first speech by Stefano Unali, described the Cummins’ diesel-electric propulsion. Michel Kozulic praised the Qsk 95, the most powerful high-speed.
Francesco Pitardi (Kohler Power Systems) described the plus of parallel systems, with the new controller, PGen and load management.
Massimiliano Cotterchio (ZF) focused on the Smart Command. The Engineer Gallo of the Italian Naval Register, talked about field’s regulations.
Andrea Castagno (Ecospray) described a yacht’s upgrade from Imo Tier 1 to Imo Tier 3. Scrubber and Denox: two important words for nautical sector.
The completely renovated product range makes its debuts at the Genoa Boatshow. Campact dimensions, new design, engines and control panel are the distinctive features. The Dynamica latest range includes four models destined to boats of small and medium size. They deliver peak power ranging form 3 to 7,8 kW.
Saim Marine – www.saim-group.com – introduces Cablemaster CRM63, a new handling and storage system for share power cable. The new model manufactured by the US Glendinning Marine – www.glendinningprods.com – is easy to use and to install.Connection to plug the boat is quickly made by simply pulling out the amount of power cord. When ready to go boating, Cablemaster retracts and stores the power cord on the reel just by pushing the control switch. A patented drive motor mechanism disengages itself when the cable is extended. The new model stores 20 meters of 63 amp power cord in a very small area and is specifically designed for the marine environment. All electrical connections are completely sealed. Voltage available 12 or 24 V, weight 28 kg including cable. Radio control and in-limit switch can be provided on request. features.
Saim Marine presents the V-shaped interceptors manufactured by the Swedish Zipwake – www.zipwake.com . They make the successful Series S even more versatile and highly competitive. V-shaped interceptors for centerline mounting are perfect for filling the gap between twin outboards or stern drives, as well as dual propeller tunnels and pods. The four V-shaped models cover deadrise angles effectively between 11 to 24 degrees. V-shaped centerline mounted interceptors can be included in new installations, or retro-fitted to already installed systems. In combination with Zipwake straight interceptors, or alternatively mounted as a single unit, the V-shaped interceptors further increases flexibility of installation and application in boats with different hull design and engine options. The V-shaped interceptors for centerline mounting contribute to achieve a near full beam interceptor arrangement for optimal lift efficiency, inherently requiring a small blade stroke of just 30 mm. In addition, interceptor actuation is in general significantly faster than conventional trim tabs and the use of interceptors hence enables to rapidly respond to external forces acting on the boat, to maintain the boats desired pitch and roll angles for better performance, fuel economy, comfort and safety.
Ancona, 2017 July, 31st – It has been a complete success the commissioning start-up procedure of the eTRAC stabilization system which took place on board of the new ISA Yacht 37m located at the shipyard in Ancona.
The system has eTRAC 300 actuators with 1,6sqm fins and it’s suitable both for underway and for at anchor stabilization. Pretty easy to install by the shipyard, after the check of connection made by ABT-TRAC engineers, the sea trials and system settings have been made in a few hours.
The new eTRAC product range will soon see the official launch of the eTRAC 250 actuators, developed for fins starting from 0,4sqm and covering the needs of smaller yachts. The new eTRAC 250 will be displayed at Cannes and Genoa boat shows next September on SAIM Marine booths.
Here we are, in Marina di Carrara.
“The Zero Impact Shipyard. Sustainable propulsion and shipping chain: engines, alternative fuels, infrastructures.”
This is the title of the first of the two calendar conferences which were held on Thursday, March the 30th, at Hall E Pavilion within the Seatec Exhibition.
At the heart of the discussions, the environmental sustainability.
Dr. Massimo Dona and Ing. Ruggero Riva intoduced the debate.
Among others, Rev. Admiral Claudio Boccalatte and Ing. Luigi Grossi of the Ligurian Region of Marine Technologies explained their points of view .
Ing Fabrizio Zaninello of INCOFIN Saim Group, pointed on “vices and virtues” of Gnl, even in comparison to other fossil fuels. He finally explained the reasons for an efficient filtration system to avoid complications such as cold start, injector clogging and increased injection costs.
We remind also Eng. Carlo Belloni of Volvo Penta, Dr. Barbara Amerio of Amer Yachts, Stefano Martelli of Swiss Brugg and Avv. Dario Soria.
The courses regarding ZF electronic controls were held at ZF headquarters in Arco di Trento and have focused on the line Smart Command and the new JMS (Joystick Maneuvering System).
They involved more than 30 specialized technicians from 20 authorized Service Points.
The courses were held by our Service Engineer Marco Oltolina with the support of Davide Mazzotta (SAIM Network Technical Manager) and the ZF Staff.
In addition to a theoretical session, the techinical staff carried out tests in open waters, sailing on board of the ZF Test Boat on the Garda Lake.
