Following the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) earlier this year, VEEM Ltd has now agreed territories and principle responsibilities with the Italian marine equipment distributor SAIM Group.
SAIM Group will be responsible for increasing awareness of the Australian engineering firm’s latest developments in gyro stabilisation technology, whilst driving sales of the latest VEEM Gyro products across Central Europe.
Marco Donà of SAIM Group comments on the appointment: “By leveraging the respective strengths of both organisations, VEEM and SAIM Group are able to boast a tremendous offering. The Assessment Company CSQ has renewed to SAIM Spa the official Quality Management Certificate according to UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 regulations.
The Certification process begun one year ago and involved the typical activities of the Milan based Company for its facilities located in Buccinasco, in the Milanese hinterland.
The Management System Certification recognises the business skills of a company which has been able to optimise its own organisation with an efficient management, adequate structures and suitable competencies.
The Certification also guarantees reliability for customers, suppliers, employees and others working for a company.
The Management System Certification represents for SAIM a step forward in the direction of customer satisfaction, partner-suppliers support for a constant improvement process towards the future challenges.
SAIM Group, the Italian Distributor of Parker-Racor products through its sales companies INCOFIN and SAIM Marine, has been appointed as the new Distributor for Sea Recovery (www.searecovery.com) watermakers on the Italian territory. The distributorship will be effective February 1, 2015 and will be announced during the Sea-Tec exhibition in Carrara. Sea Recovery offers an innovative line of watermakers which can suit every need in the boating industry from small sail and motorboats to superyachts, through the fully automated Aqua Matic, the miniature Aqua Whisper Mini Series and the energy efficient Ultra Whisper system. Saim completes its range with another premium product which combines functionality with design, quality, technology and reliability.
The completely renovated product range makes its debuts at the Genoa Boatshow. Campact dimensions, new design, engines and control panel are the distinctive features. The Dynamica latest range includes four models destined to boats of small and medium size. They deliver peak power ranging form 3 to 7,8 kW.
SAIM Marine, through the distributor for UAE Yacht Controller FZE, has attended the Abu Dhabi International Boat Show.
Zipwake, Underwater Lights, Glendinning, Dynamica and Side Power were the represented products at the exhibition.
Saim participation in the Boat Show was especially important as it established the formal distribution agreement of SAIM Marine of the Zipwake Interceptors in the United Arab Emirates and in other Persian Gulf countries.

Beyond the transition to the “Green Economy”, it is essential to identify the objectives that cannot be delayed, starting from valorization, application and implementation.
Saim and Kubota used EIMA International (Bologna 7-11 November 2018) to officially unveil the D902-T, which is an all-new compact premium model within the New Super Mini Series (NSM).
The new model will be ready for EU Stage V from 2019 and formed part of an extensive range of Kubota power solutions at the event.
The turbocharged D902-T requires no DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) and is a vertical, water-cooled 4-cycle diesel engine.
It can achieve a rated output of 18.5 kW (24.8HP) at a rated speed of 2800 rpm with a maximum torque of 78.0 Nm (57.5 lb-ft) at a rated speed of 2000rpm.
With its compact dimensions of 434mm long x 412mm wide x 544mm high (17.1 x 16.2 x 21.4 in), and a dry weight of 75 kg (165lb) the new D902-T provides a perfect solution for equipment manufacturers requiring increased levels of torque from a compact power source.
As like the other Kubota engines on display at EIMA International, the new model will be ready for EU Stage V from 2019 and forms part of an extensive range of Kubota power solutions at the event.
This latest unveiling within 2018, serves to demonstrate the newly formed Business Unit Engine Europe’s commitment to growing its European business by innovation.
Leading the series, the D902-T shares many key features and benefits from the world renowned NSM engine series.
By offering enhanced performance and greater versatility, particularly attractive to manufacturers of compact Agriculture or Municipal machines working at high altitude or requiring higher levels of torque reserves at slower speeds.
After the autumn boatshow, as every year Saim organizes the technical trainings for Saim Marine service network starting from November.
The programme for the months to come will be addressed not just to the Italian Saim Marine network, but also to EMEA dealers for Kohler.
22 Italian service centres had attended our first-level trainings on ZF electronic controls in November while the first technical trainings for Zipwake interceptors, which are currently selected for production series by several boatyards such as Azimut and Ferretti, will be held next December.
The first traing in January will be addressed to Kohler dealers in Europe, Middle East and Africa. As every year Saim is honoured to welcome the main dealers at its headquarter due to its organisation and technical staff.
Italian service centres are expected to attend the following sessions of technical update for Kohler and Side Power products.

Dynamica launches two new Models
Saim introduces two new models of Dynamica gen-set range to the currently existing 40E and 60E providing 3 and 5 kW. Equipped with new Kubota engines, the new 70E and 90 E deliver 6 and 9 kW – two cylinders 479 cc for the 70E, three cylinders 719 cc for the 90E, are both available in the 50 or 60 Hz versions. The 60 Hz models are compliant with EPA Tier III for the USA market.
Kohler expands generator range
Saim introduces two new powerful models of Kohler marine generators at the upcoming Boatshows. They both feature Kohler KDI engine and DEC 3500 controller and produce 28 and 35 kW. Both available in 1-phase and 3-phase version, the new models incorporate all standard premium features to deliver the optimum performance and a high level of quality for an enhanced level of reliability expected from Kohler.
Maneuvering safely with Side Power
The new electric Side Power thruster make their debut at the Cannes, Genoa and Monaco Boat shows. The new thrusters – SE 250 and TC and SEP 250 and 300 TC – are both equipped with twin counter rotating 5-blade propeller Q-Prop and are available both in the ON/OFF and proportional control versions. Featuring 250 and 300 kg thrust they are suitable for boats between 60’ and 98’.
Small and powerful
Underwater Lights expands QT Marlin range and unveils its latest model of submersible marine lights. The QT-66SM delivers 6000 lumes and it is the smallest and most powerful Led light currently available to be mounted with no need of holes. Premiere at the Boatshows in September. By end of this year a more powerful model delivering 10.000 lumes will be also available.
The KOHLER technical training sessions, in SAIM’s headquarters, addressed to the distributors network has just ended.
The courses were run by KOHLER’s Service Manager Marco Pezzuolo with the support of SAIM’S Service staff together with the KOHLER Service Manager Francesco Pitardi.
The sessions involved many technicians – Dealer and Specialist – from all over Italy.
The training was focused on Kohler DEC3500 controller that offers the possibility of parallel operation with multiple generator sets (also single phase) thanks to PGEN® system patented by KOHLER.
DYNAMICA gen sets have also been illustrated and studied.
Saim introduces Aqua Matic Dual Pass. The new system by Sea Recovery features a fully automatic Dual Pass Water Desalination System as a single, compact and quiet machine. It combines the benefits of a standard water maker plus added features such as the ability to produce ultra-pure water from sea water or from any dockside freshwater source available. Three models are currently available for yachts above 24 metres.

Ascomac Unimot is working hard for the zero-impact boatyard, through environmental awareness. The engine room is an important part of the process.
On 26th September 2017 took place in Genoa a technical workshop focused on power efficiency of the boat; Ascomac President Ruggero Riva e Ascomac Unimot President Massimo Donà led the meeting.
The first speech by Stefano Unali, described the Cummins’ diesel-electric propulsion. Michel Kozulic praised the Qsk 95, the most powerful high-speed.
Francesco Pitardi (Kohler Power Systems) described the plus of parallel systems, with the new controller, PGen and load management.
Massimiliano Cotterchio (ZF) focused on the Smart Command. The Engineer Gallo of the Italian Naval Register, talked about field’s regulations.
Andrea Castagno (Ecospray) described a yacht’s upgrade from Imo Tier 1 to Imo Tier 3. Scrubber and Denox: two important words for nautical sector.
